Snowfall is a rare occurrence in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The city only documented an average of 3-5 inches of snowfall on December 11, 2008. Firefighters battle blaze at Hattiesburg bowling alley

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) – Hattiesburg firefighters extinguished a blaze at Hub Bowling Lanes on Tuesday night.

Hattiesburg Fire Department incident commander Parry Hollands said about 70 people were inside the building when the fire started. Everyone was able to escape and no injuries were reported.

Hollands said the blaze was caused by a grease fire in the kitchen around 7:06 p.m.

Firefighters in Hattiesburg, Mississippi have successfully extinguished a fire that occurred at Hub Bowling Lanes on October 30, 2018. Hattiesburg Fire Department headed by Parry Hollands responded to the fire alarm that started around 7:06 pm on Tuesday. The team had cut a hole in the building’s roof to gain access inside the building and extinguish the fire. All of the 70 people inside the building were safely evacuated. Based on the initial investigation, the blaze started due to a grease fire in the kitchen area. The fire severely damaged the kitchen and left smoke damages throughout the building.
